Current type rating and 500 PIC E170/190
Operated E170/E190 in the last three years
Operated as PIC (any type) in the last twelve months
We’re looking for a pilot who is rated on the Embraer E170/E190 and who has a strong interest in safety management. Our ideal applicant will have previously held a post related to SMS and FDM. They could be a Captain or First Officer.
They’ll need an analytical mind, good communication skills, and to understand the importance of just culture and continuous improvement. They’ll need tact, diplomacy and the trust of their colleagues. They should have completed training in flight data monitoring and have experience as an FDM analyst or gatekeeper. We can provide some training to fill gaps in experience for a candidate with the right attitude who is willing to learn.
This is a full-time position based in Antigua. “Office” duties will be combined with line flying. You’ll need the flexibility to be available for safety duties at short notice.
Responsibilities ‒ Flight Safety Officer
The FSO reports to the DoS and supports him/her in the development, implementation and maintenance of the SMS. He/she:
(a) Is a role model for pilots and acts as safety champion, supporting open reporting, just and learning culture and continuous improvement in the SMS.
(b) Is responsible for data analysis of flight data monitoring.
(b) Brings safety issues identified through FDM to the attention of the DoS.
(c) Acts as the Trusted Representative (TR) for FDM and liaises with the pilot community on safety issues.
(d) Protects the confidentiality of FDM data and the identity of pilots from whom he obtains feedback on FDM events.
(e) Reviews occurrence reports and conducts investigations as directed by DoS.
(f) Conducts other duties assigned by the DoS.
(g) Deputises for DoS.
